Creating Justice LA
Los Angeles, CA–Creating Justice, LA has officially acquired Skid Row People’s Market! The acquisition allows us to further address inequities in good food access in the skid row community right away, while maintaining and providing community jobs and mutual aid.
After 30 years in Skid Row, the transition of this store from its Korean owned roots into the cradle of a Black-led grassroots organization is a poignant benchmark and a timely reminder of the important and interchanging roles of peace, healing and justice in community.
On May 18, 2025 We will celebrate the grand Re-Opening of Skid Row People’s Market AND the 2 Year Anniversary of the Creating Justice Peace and Healing center!

Since the Creating Justice, LA opened its Peace and Healing Center in late May of 2023 in Skid Row, our organization has been investing into local community health, prioritizing dignified work, the arts, peace, and food equity. Everyday we offer free coffee and food, conversations, curated music and art, clothing and performance space, fostering social and economic health and innovation. The purchase of the market furthers this vision of community empowerment through connection, conversation and creativity!
We will rejoice in both major milestones with food, activities, fun and music by the Creating Justice Artivist Village and others!
